Ezov is an extract from the flowers of hyssop, also known as beeweed or St. Joseph's wort. Its name comes from the Hebrew word “ezop,” which means “holy herb.” The ancient Hebrews already used hyssop for ritual and medicinal purposes and it is even mentioned in the Old Testament. Later, Hippocrates and Hildegard von Bingen also used it, who attributed numerous health-promoting properties to it. Its essential oil has now become a particularly popular element in aromatherapy, where it is associated with both physical and psychological effects.
