Description

Folate is a water soluble B vitamin, therefore needs to be consumed every day to maintain adequate levels, as it cannot be stored in the body. It is typically found in green leafy vegetables, citrus fruits and dried beans and peas. Folate is important for supporting a healthy nervous system. It is also important for heart health as it helps convert homocysteine to methionine. Without this conversion, homocysteine levels become too high, which can be damaging to the heart. Folate is one of the most important nutrients to be taken prior to conception and is recommended to be taken 3 months prior to planning to conceive and throughout the first trimester, to reduce the risk of neural tube defects in the developing foetus.

Dosage

Take 1 capsule daily or as directed by your healthcare professional. Do not take within 5 hours of bedtime as it may interfere with sleep.
